Privacy Policy

Effective: September 9, 2026

Plain-English summary: everything on the site is open with no account. We collect your email only if you ask for the Thursday email, standard server logs to run the site, and anonymous page counts to see what people read. No ad trackers, no third-party analytics. We never sell your information. Payments, if we ever take any, are handled by Stripe and your card never touches us.

What we collect

• Subscriber record — if you subscribe to the Thursday email we keep your address, when you subscribed, when you last confirmed, the dates you visited while carrying a session cookie (a count of days, not a browsing log), and which version of the Terms you agreed to.
• Email address — only when you subscribe (we confirm with a one-click link; there are no passwords).
• Cookies — at most two, both first-party. A session cookie if you have confirmed your email, and one anonymous cookie (sm_seen) that holds only the date you first visited, so we can count new versus returning visitors in aggregate. It contains no identifier and cannot be tied to you. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested; standard operational logs, retained briefly for security and debugging.
• Payment information — we never see it. If we ever take payments, including voluntary contributions, they are processed by Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages. We receive a status, never card numbers.

If you only browse — the board, the cards, the archive, any page — we have standard server logs and anonymous aggregate page counts, and nothing else. No email, no account, no profile.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, or precise location. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Site traffic is measured with our own first-party counter: each page view adds one to a daily count for that page and, if you arrived through a tagged link, for that channel. Counts only — no IP addresses, no identifiers, nothing that follows you across sites. Cloudflare, as our network provider, additionally reports aggregate request volumes to us.

How we use it

To operate the Service: the confirmation link, the Thursday email you asked for (with unsubscribe in every issue), and service notices such as material changes to these terms. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it except with the processors below or if the law requires.

Processors

• Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and security in front of the site; stores subscriber records and the aggregate traffic counters (Cloudflare Workers KV).
• Google Workspace — hosts our mailbox ([email protected]).
• Resend — delivers confirmation links, the Thursday email, and service email, sent from send.saidmark.com. Resend processes your email address to deliver those messages.
• Stripe — payments, if/when any.

Retention and your choices

Subscriber data is kept while you are subscribed. Unsubscribe from any issue, or email us to delete your record entirely; we will honor it within 30 days. Server logs rotate on a short schedule. Traffic counters are aggregate and contain nothing to delete.

Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We will update the effective date above when this policy changes and note material changes on the site. If you subscribe to the Thursday email, material changes are also sent to that address — the same promise the Terms make.
